The Nitro Bro

My friends and I still talk about how much we loved Henry Cavill as Superman and how DC underutilized, misused and basically destroyed all potential for what could’ve been.  Regardless of how great Henry was, DC and Warner Brothers rushed the DCEU, rather than focusing on the character and story development, they just wanted to compete with the MCU at the time, but the ironic thing is now it seems Marvel is rushing things with this nonsensical Multiverse Saga.

Ever since Avengers: Endgame the MCU has been on a swift drop in quality, some of it is unjustified because it’s hard to keep up quality with Infinity War and Endgame, but most of it justified, the movies for the most part have been forgettable, such as Black Panther 2, The Marvels, and even Captain America 4, the biggest issue is they’ve had very little story progression and a lot of it has been confusing due to relying too much on nostalgia for the multiverse.

Even with story progression (Mainly in post-credit scenes) the Multiverse Saga worked best, when it didn’t deal with the Multiverse, and Marvel seemed to have realized that, especially after the removal of Kang.  Kang was the main catalyst for the going with the Multiverse and after the whole incident with Johnathan Majors, they had to go a different direction, this was before the Multiverse was properly established and they decided they needed to end it. 

With this new direction a lot of things are left unfulfilled and unestablished such as Shang Chi, Sam as Captain America, what’s going on with Spider-Man, the situation in Wakanda and even more I can list off (Probably a different article).  So now with the shift from Kang to Dr. Doom I feel they are trying to finish off this Multiverse Saga as soon as possible so they can do a reboot of the MCU.

The ironic thing is now that Marvel is rushing, it seems that DC is going to do their new DCU, starting with Superman and gradually adding characters and focusing on true development rather than rushing it like they originally had.  I still love the MCU, but not as much as I used to, but let’s hope with James Gunn at the helm DC learned from theirs (And Marvels) mistakes not to rush.
