When I heard this movie was actually real, it was another moment where I felt it was an unnecessary sequel and Hollywood really needs new ideas. The first movie was interesting but I didn’t find anything all too special that warranted a sequel. However, while unnecessary it’s a good sequel and a superior movie compared to the first one.
This was significantly different from the previous film, the only thing that really carried over were the characters. It was more of an action comedy buddy movie than the slow burn thriller the first one was. The dynamic between the 2 leads was great, they had good chemistry and complimented one another with their differences. The story itself was well done and could’ve been it’s own movie rather than a sequel, even the side characters added significantly to the story. Unlike the first film, you never felt bored and you were engaged and entertained throughout.
More of a personal criticism, I can’t stand Ben Affleck, I just find he’s so boring and just plays the same part each time (Probably due to his lackluster Batman!). While good I just felt this movie was unnecessary and the revenge plot really amounted to nothing at the end and felt unresolved.
It was an unnecessary and to be honest, an unwanted sequel but it was good, far superior than the previous film and could’ve been it’s own movie.
I give this a 7.5/10.

- Balanced humor with the mature story
Bad:
- Revenge plot was lackluster
