As I finished this newest season of Invincible (which was awesome by the way), it made me wonder what other nonconventional comic characters could make a great animated series. Marvel and DC have had plenty but, I am thinking of lesser-known characters or ones who haven’t been done yet.
Savage Dragon
This is a character I know nothing about, never seen his comics but heard a lot about him in high school days and Image Comics is not afraid to push boundaries. This character is complex, most likely ultra-violent and has a human approach to him. As a cop, it could ad a fun and interesting detective aspect to the show.
The Question
Think of this character as a middle-class Batman, also this character isn’t just one person, this character is a persona/title. A brilliant detective who’s borderline crazy and is a skilled combatant. Even using one of the female secret identities would help it stand out.
Doctor Fate
This one would be one wild trip, as a more mature and significantly darker Hogwarts type of experience. Showing a lot of mystical characters, the primary use of magic as the weapon of choice and virtually limitless visual freedom. Doctor Fate is complex, powerful, and has a lot of variants, this would be crazy.
Deathstroke
He’s an assassin and arguably the best in all comics. He’s also got virtually no moral compass, he’s a stone-cold killer and nothing else. Showing him orchestrating his contracts and showing the complexities of them of how he will let nothing stop him.
Ghost Rider
They have to go with the motorcycle one, he’s just so much cooler. While there will certainly be action, I see this as more of a horror show. It very much would have a demonic and hell-themed feel to it, but it would be fun to see demons fight.
There are certainly more options out there, but at the top of my head these are just a few characters I think would make for a great animated series.
Who else do you think would make a great animated series?arvel rushing or was the Multiverse Saga and giant letdown?dea?
